My name is Eric Bruce Wilds. Welcome to Wilds Horizon.

My intent is to provide instruction and training for the purpose of increasing the well-being of my clients and anyone who visits the website. First and foremost I want people to know that getting stronger, increasing flexibility, learning to relax, sharpening focus and many other methods of self-improvement are within your capability, for anyone regardless of background, age, or finance. All the tools you require to accomplish your own goals in any area of self-improvement are included in the toolkit intrinsic to you. You may need assistance or guidance in how to access and use these tools but you have them, you were born with them.

I see my role as someone who by communicating in clear terms verbally and by demonstration helps you to learn methods and practices to improve and maintain your physical self and in addition develop skills to find focus and inner peace. There are many ways, practices, and methods that are taught by many people to achieve these goals but it’s important enough to reiterate that the ability is within you. No one person or method is THE WAY and trying new and different roads to get to the same destination makes the traveling fun! And who knows what you might find on the way?

Chiefly I make use of yoga, Pilates method, and resistance training of various sorts to achieve goals, with a consistent, purposeful use of breath to find calm, enable movement, create power and for many other reasons. One of my underlying principles is to demystify these practices by giving cues and instructions in clear terms. I have always avoided using Sanskrit in yoga or using Latin terms for anatomy with clients because it creates a barrier for most people. If I want you, my client, to embrace what I teach then you have to be able to easily interpret my instruction, including the words used.

I approach physical training through spinal and hip movement coordinated with breath and build from the core out. All client motivations towards fitness goals are considered valid, from weight loss to sport conditioning to recovery from injury or illness, anything that motivates you is valid!

My clients tell me their goals and I assess what I perceive their needs to be, we create a plan from that and enact it towards those ends. It’s a partnership between myself and you, the client. Your workouts and training with me are not intended to exhaust you or “ beat you up”. Instead, after a session with me you should feel energized and empowered.
